Taco Bell – Newport News, VA

Mexican, Other No Comments »

My sister mentioned to me that taco bell had a new menu option for vegetarians. I looked it up and voila! the crispy potato taco. She picked up a couple for me so I cannot review the actual restaurant she went to but only the items.

The taco itself didn’t look as appetizing as what is shown on the website but that is expected. I mean, the real thing doesn’t ever look as good as the pictures on the menus anyway. Once I took my first bite, I fell in love. This taco is so delicious! It has the perfect taste. My sister who got them for me says they remind her of what she remembers chicken soft tacos tasting like (she is also vegetarian).

Kudos to taco bell for adding another vegetarian option to their menu. Hopefully the interest in this taco leads them to develop even more items and *hopefully* take gelatin out of their sour cream.

I’ve heard this is a great place for delicious Vegan cupcakes.  Currently, they only sell them on Thursdays but that could change with more interest.   Please help our fellow vegans and request more and more cupcakes!  If they get enough requests, they may start selling them everyday.

I haven’t posted in a while (really busy) but plan on getting back in and adding more reviews (Red Robin, Nonnas, Vintner’s Cellar to name a few).  In the meantime, I wanted to give support to my friend who just started a new vegetable blog.  She isn’t vegetarian but is a great supporter of vegetables.  Her blog will include a lot of good information on vegetables and nutrition in general.  She will also be posting recipes.  Check it out – http://www.veggiewiz.com/

Baker's Crust - Norfolk, VA

This was my first time going to the Baker’s Crust.  After we walked in, we were greeted and sat down promptly.  There wasn’t a wait at all and on a Saturday night, that’s amazing.  We had the option to eat outside but decided to eat inside because it was kind of muggy out and getting dark.

Once we sat down and ordered our drinks (I had some great tasting peach tea), they brought out some bread and butter.  It wasn’t out of this world but was still pretty good.  I’m a bread-lover though so I have to say I’m a bit picky. :) Click here to read more »
